Everyone is going crazy over the elastic hair ties. I absolutely LOVE them! With my wavy/curly hair, depending on what it wants to do on any certain day, these hair ties are the best. At the store, you can buy about four of them for roughly $2. or $3. Which is outrageous Sooo....
I made my own! ^_^
This website Sunshine Shoppe is amazing! I was able to buy about... 9 yards of elastic for under $7!!! Yupp, I was pretty amazed. Considering I was one of those people paying $3 for only four of them. There are over 48 colors to choose to from! It was hard not to get every color. And there are also super cute glitter ones, For those though, I suggest getting more than one yard for a couple. They tended to need roughly 10inches for one hair tie. They didn't stretch as nicely because of the stiffness with the glitter. Yet, I still love those ones. They were a biggest hit with Sophie and other littler girls. How they love sparkles. ^_^ A friend of mine recently purchased some and made a few as a stocking stuffer for her daughter! It was such a great idea. These would make perfect stocking stuffers. I'll be using them this holiday season!
Their orders are backed up so be prepared to wait about a week or so for your order to be shipped. Once they finally arrived in the mail, I was so excited to start cutting!
I measured them about 8-9 inches long. That was perfect to fit around my wrist and to leave enough to tie the ends together. Each yard made about 3-4 hair ties. Some of them there was enough left at the end I could make smaller hair ties that I gave to Sophie. They worked perfect for little girl hair. In all, I got over 34 hair ties, plus about 5 little girl hair ties I gave to Sophie. I burned the edges with my candle lighter so the ends don't keep fraying. And so far they have been amazing! Just as good as the store bought ones, yet way cheaper! I've had many people ask me on facebook where I purchased them and how I made them. ^_^ Thought I would share this amazing find!
