Last night I had the urge to start a brand new sewing project. I needed to get started on all the Christmas presents I'm making this year, so I choose to start off with the Elephant plush toy pattern I had bought a couple months back. Joann's had their huge Veteran's Day sale and I had already bought all the materials. Pulling an all nighter working on a new project sounded great at first...and yet, it didn't end so great. This was my first attempt at sewing a stuffed animal. I had crocheted multiple stuffed animals before, but never sewed one. All in all, the elephant turned out decent...not perfect and not too bad either. Here it is...
Here's a post on a past Pinterest project I did with the kids a couple months back. I have tried too many Pinterest projects to count. Some haven't turned out too well, but others, like this one, turned out perfect. Crayon Art is all over Pinterest and the interent now.
I basically read this post here and started from there. I didn't take pictures through out the process unfortunantly but this is what we ended up with... Today has been an off day, so when I got home. I had the urge to do a random project. Yes it's almost midnight. :) The boot-cuffs I've been attempting to make haven't worked out the way my imagination has pictured them. I needed to try something new. I took one of my sweaters and decided to cut the arms off. I remember seeing it in a pin on Pinterest at a glance. It was a crazy, impulsive thought. And it worked out. They turned out super cute. Or I think so!
Sanders, the little boy that I nanny for, this week had a homework project. He had this turkey we had to cut out and decorate any way the child wanted. Sanders of course choose to do Captain America. He wanted to do Hulk at first, but there was no way I could help him in pull of making that turkey into Hulk.
My very first blog post. I am beyond excited to get this blog project up and going. :)
Hello! My name is Stefani. I have been planning to start a craft/personal blog for a while now. With Pinterest blowing up and where my life is at right now, it seemed like the perfect time to finally get started. So here I am. ^_^ I plan on using this blog to post tutorials on different projects I have been putting together. I will go ahead and give you the first one. I am currently working on a Ribbon and Bow Cowl tutorial for the winter. I have been making a lot of winter items lately and was determined to put together my own cowl tutorial and pattern. I am an obsessive Pinterest user, and I searched and searched for a good pattern/tutorial and came up rather short handed. Thus, the decision to make up my own! That will be up within the next, week or so. Speaking of Pinterest. I am also going to be adding posts about Pinterest pins that I have tried and give some insight on how they turned out, pictures on the projects, and some helpful tips ( that's the plan at least) to give out to everyone. I have tired TONS of Pinterest pins and crafts that I have found. Some haven't turned out too great (disasters....) and others have ended up being amazing. On top of those two main topics, I'll most likely be adding in everyday blog posts about what crafts I'm planning or working on. Or if I am planning a photography outing, which with winter coming and snow, I'll be going on a lot of those! :) I suppose this ends my first post! Happy Crafting! |
