My latest project! Life has been busy and stressful these last two months. I have not had time to sit down and really work on a project. There are a few projects up in the air still, such as my blanket and other knitting projects. Luckily since I buy a lot of my supplies ahead of time when it goes on sale, I had everything to make the hippo. Itching to work on a project, ANY project, I went to my fabric bins to search out any ideas. It came down to either working on a giraffe or a hippo. As I picked out which fabric colors to use, the hippo's fabric combos ended up making the decision for me. The link for where I purchased this adorable hippo pattern (and the other stuffed animal patterns on my blog) will be located down below! :)

I can't believe that it has been one year this month since I started my blog! Blows my mind just how much it has grown. I never in my life thought that my first blog would reach over 26,000 unique hits in one year! To me that is... just so amazing. I am truly blessed. I go on Pinterest and I noticed something of mine pinned here and there. Still is sort of surreal. I am no where near a "popular" blog, nor do I write one in hopes that it would become a huge hit. I just write to basically write. I hope that I can lend a helping hand to at least a few people. Give them an insight to my craft world. :)
Hi Everyone! I haven't written a blog post in over two months. Kept putting off writing anything. I haven't been feeling it lately so took a small break. Plus, it was summer. :) I was super busy working both jobs and enjoying my summer.
Nothing really exciting has been going on. Just a few projects here and there. I have planned a few, but I am keeping them for winter. So I can keep busy. I am currently working on an afghan. Attempting to create my own pattern. :D There is my new crochet rug! I am so in love with it. Every time I walk into my room my eyes just go straight to it. It's just not something everyone has and I love that about it. I followed a a tutorial I found off pinterest. Which is no surprise. I get more than 80% of all my craft ideas from pinterest.
I was talking with a few friends about my blog and we got to talking about other crafts that I haven't mentioned yet. Cross Stitching! Then that lead me to think... I never ever finish any of the cross stitching projects that I start... and from there I thought let's add up all the projects that I never seem to finish. Ever ^_^ Please excuse these pictures in this post. They are mostly all taken on my phone and not pretty at all. :) That's because I never finished them so they didn't get into my portfolio.
To kick it off... Cross Stitch projects. I get soo excited when I first start these, but then once I get past a part that I really really wanted to do, I lose interest and it ends up in unfinished tote. Or the bottom of a random craft tote. And I have many craft totes hahaha. Here's a few that I have yet to finish...these are from like... four or more years ago... I've gotten a lot of feed back on the pictures I posted of my crochet stuffed animals from my Plush Elephant post. I thought I'd write a special post on just them! There will be tons of pictures because I have a lot of them on these guys. For a good year.. about two years ago...I was obsessed with making these guys. At the end of this post, I'll give you guys a list of links where I bought some of these patterns. ^_^
I came across these awesome crochet art from one of my many anime/manga that I watch/read. They originate in Japan. They're really called amigurumi. If you google it, there is a ton of stuff out there on amigurumi. Like a whole different side to crocheting and knitting! I have yet to try the knitting amigurumi yet. I am not a very good knitter. I am much better at crocheting so I stuck with what I knew. ^_^ Here's a few pictures of a few of them! I have a portfolio full of the projects I've made over the years, hence all the cute pictures. :) |
