It ended up working perfect. Even better then the cardboard. I also bought the high-gloss paint, instead of the satin. I wanted to see if the paint would leave a little bit more gloss and not look so dull. So far, it's drying the rest of the way, it looks a little better. :) The only downside is, not all the colors come in the high-gloss. At least not in the store. I haven't checked online yet.
I made another shirt today! But, I changed it up a little bit from how I did it last time. Only changed a few details but thought I would share it all with you guys. I decided to try something with a little more detail. Hence my Dr. Who TARDIS. It was hard finding an outline that was detailed but not too detailed. But, I think I nailed it! It turned out so nice! I am currently in the process of making the back to this shirt. It's going to be a tribute to my favorite Doctor, the 10th Doctor. It's going to say "Bad Wolf". :) It was a hard choice between that or a bow tie on the front for the 11th Doctor. :) Yes, I'm a nerd. Proud of it. :p When I went to the craft store to pick up a TARDIS blue color, **which they didn't have one close enough much to my dismay :( ** I saw this on the wall and thought that it would work MUCH better then using a piece of cardboard. I was worried that what happen with the long-neck screen-print would happen with my TARDIS. With the small details, if anything seeped through it would look terrible... I took my time getting this one perfect. Instead of letting it sort of halfway dry. I left it out for a few days before I attempted to put it on the t-shirt. I wanted to make sure all the tiny lines that I had to mod podge were fully dry. I was really worried about how it would turn out. I wasn't even sure if putting the design on the side like that would be really awesome or just plain awkward. Luckily, it turned out perfect! I was super happy with it. I plan on making some of my fellow Whovian friends matching shirts :) I bought a different type of panty-hose this time around too. So far, I don't like it. It doesn't stretch as well as the other ones. I actually have to mod podge the sides to my hoop and then stretch it because it would slip out from under the tape. Super annoying. I'm still trying to find the perfect technic. I will keep you guys posted on what I find. I get pretty OCD about being organized. So I got a cute little basket for all the supplies to make the screen-printing. This way everything is basically all together and I know exactly where it's all at. Normally I just have a large bin with tons of stuff and I'm digging through it to find what I need. :) This is a simple way to stay organized and its cute. :D
