My aunt randomly decided on Friday night that the next morning we would leave to go to the Cincinnati Zoo for their Easter celebration. The trip is about 4 and half hours one way from where we live near Chicago. The trip was way worth all the hours spent in the car and the wake up at 3:30 am.
One thing I absolutely love to do, is taking pictures of animals and nature. This was a great opportunity to take some pretty pictures of the animals. It was so much fun to take pictures of these amazing creatures. Not to mention, I got a good use of my new zoom lens!

The polar bears were enjoying a swim right after they got their Easter watermelons.
The birds were the best to get pictures of. They are all so beautiful. The peacocks where all over the park roaming around. It was amazing.
Josie met an adorable baby monkey. I think they were bonobos. I could be wrong though. They just kept staring at each other. The baby monkey kept imitating Josie. So stinking cute. Then as we were leaving to let others in front of the glass, she waved goodbye and the monkey waved back.
The orchids in the butterfly room were just plain gorgeous I love orchids. They are by far my favorite flower. :)
Red Pandas are my most favorite animal of like all time. I absolutely LOVE them. For awhile everything I owned electronic wise had a red panda background. Right now they are mostly pandas still. :D Unfortunately when I made my way to the red pandas at the zoo, they were both hiding in their den and wouldn't come out. I was so upset I didn't get a chance to see my favorite animal. But, everything was better when one of the zoo keepers told me about something they sold at the zoo. A painting that one of their red pandas had painted. I was so excited. A painting by a red panda? Heck Yes! To make it even better, 100% of the proceeds go towards a foundation that helps preserve the red panda's natural habitats in Asia. The painting came with a picture of their red Panda Liwu painting the same day she painted the one I bought.
They offer paints made by elephants (which one day I plan on owning one!) and rhino paintings. I think they are the most cool thing ever. I want to collect and display them all. I have always been donating to foundations. I (even though this is so childish) collect the Build-a-bear WWF series "bears". I think now I own up to 9 or 10 of them. Part of those proceeds go towards the WWF also. :) This coming year, I plan on adopting a red panda through the WWF.
