So what do I do? Go crazy cram crafting! I made all this in less than 24 hours. Excluding the lion which I had made months ago and just didn't have anyone to give it to until now. I went shopping for the materials and sewed everything the Friday before the babyshower. Which was hectic. My little sister, Jessie, and I had to leave that friday afternoon to drive the 4 hours south to where my sister lives. That cut my time even more.
Last month my older sister had her baby shower, along with her younger sister. (Sort of confusing I know.) They had a joint babyshower since they were due so close to eachother. I was super excited. I always love the chance to make things for people. (Oh and of course for having a new nephew on the way! ^_^ ) But, because at that time I was working 60+ hours a week between my two jobs, I didn't have time to actually make anything. :(

Happy June everyone! : )
This past month has be super busy for me. Working both jobs and over 60 hours a week leaves little time for much of anything else. I apologize for the lack of posts. A lot has been going on the last month. I was getting myself prepared to become a Vegetarian again. A few years back, when I was in high school I made the decision to be a vegetarian. My poor mother was the one who had to come up with meal plans for me and now I sort of feel bad putting her through that. It's not easy I am finding out. So this past month, I have experimented in different recipes I could use to make sure I get enough protein and other nutrients. That is the reason last time my doctor took me off my vegetarian life style. I was too active and couldn't keep up with what my body needed to stay healthy. This time around it will be different. Here it is! Finally!!! :D The tutorial for the snuggly blanket I make. I made one two years ago and everyone keeps trying to steal it or comment how snuggly and soft it is. Always hinting that they want me to make them one also. I use mine everyday. I love how soft it is. Now that all my craft supplies are out of storage, I dove into this project today. I picked out this fabric months ago. I was so ecstatic to finally use it. It's a beautiful combination.
It's been a crazy couple weeks getting ready for this wedding. One of my aunt's best friends was planning a wedding and as her maid-of-honor, my aunt took on some projects. Also volunteering my sister and I to help out too. I browsed the internet and found some crafty ideas for center pieces. The bride was on a tight budget and we had less than three weeks to plan everything. After a couple hours of searching my aunt decided on the perfect idea for the center pieces. Later, I would wish I hadn't shown her the idea...
The planning for the tutorial on how to make my awesome cuddling blankets has been put to a halt, once again. Since I haven't put out a craft post in about a week or so, I went digging through old projects and came up with this idea. This post is a look at past blanket projects I've done and actually finished. ^_^ There are three different blankets I am going to write about and show. One, is a hand-made chenille blanket. I followed a beautiful tutorial on how to make. I'll share the link to that later. The second one is just the plain baby minky blankets. Lastly, I'll show you guys the semi-quilted baby blanket I made as a custom order for a family friend. I actually found a lot of pictures on all these projects. :)
I just recently, last month, finally graduated college (YAY!!!!!) Well I had to do an externship in order to graduate. As a parting gift at the end of my extern and to say thank you to all the girls in the doctor's office that taught me and helped me, my sister and I made some of our hand-made truffles to bring in for them. They were a huge hit. ^_^
We had previously made them for my aunt's babyshower as her party favor. Every girl's best friend is chocolate right? It was a major hit back then too. And I wanted to share with everyone our recipe and how we make them. I don't have full step by step pictures but I do have a few from when we made over 200 truffles for the baby shower. First off, we never really followed a real recipe per say. But, my sister (who is helping me write this blog post!) and I have put together a recipe. Before we start with the recipe, we are going to start off with giving some pointers on how to work with chocolate. It can be difficult to work with if you haven't ever worked with it before. |
